On May 23rd the ESOMAR Council attended an online meeting, a monthly appointment(in-between face-to-face meetings in Amsterdam) to enable to discuss, make quicker decisions and work closely with the team.
This meeting was dedicated to sharing some usual topics such as the Membership and Financial reports presented respectively by Rhiannon Bryant and Nordin Ahyoud. Thank you!
Beyond these subjects this meeting was the opportunity to discuss some important subjects and to make the following decisions and approvals:
3 Phase one of this project, initiated by the previous Council, encapsulates the revamp of the website with more dedicated benefits and a truly member centric experience. The team is working hard for a pre-launch is scheduled for Congress. Beyond the website and its technical aspects, this Digital Transformation project is an enabler for an ESOMAR 2030 Plan to future-proof our organization. We will initiate this move with a strategy and a plan in our next Council Meeting in July.
The AGM (Annual General Meeting) is scheduled on June 12th with morning and evening online sessions (CET) to cover all the time zones. In this meeting ESOMAR Members will be encouraged to vote (if they have not already done so) on the resolution to revise the ICC/ESOMAR International Code on Market, Opinion and Social Research and Data Analytics (which has been approved by the Council according to the procedure).
During the AGM voting will also open for approval on the the Discharge of Directors’ Liability, auditors for FY 2025 and the minutes of the previous General Meeting (GM) in 2024. These sessions will be followed by a Town Hall discussion using the same meeting link.
On June 16th in a third session, voting results will be announced and the AGM closed.

The Council rules allow to co-opt two Council Members in order to be more inclusive, bring specific expertise,…. I am delighted to announce that Sandy Casey (USA) and Mariela Mociulsky (Argentina) have been elected. We are honored to welcome these highly talented, experienced and connected women. Congratulations from the whole Community! Mariela and Sandy will join the Council for our next online meeting on June 19th
